Q: HEY! What’s non-video game music doing on your Archaeogaming site?
A: I’m parking this stuff here until I get my other music hosting sorted. So for now, come for the tunes, and stay for video game archaeology goodness.
ALL ALBUMS AND SONGS ARE FREE UNDER THE CC-BY LICENSE. I wrote and recorded all of these at home from 2012-present:
SPACE ROCK: Cyphernaut (69 MB direct download, 16 MP3 tracks in 1 ZIP file, cover art). My first space rock album, Vindemiatrix, has everything you’d hope for in a space rock record, which is: space rock. Basically rock with some synthesizers and stuff. In space.
ROCK/HEAVY: Andronicus Rex (59 MB direct download, 16 MP3 tracks in 1 ZIP file, cover art). If you like your guitars with a side of guitars and guitars for dessert, this record’s for you. Don’t sue me because “Blackbeard’s Ghost” kicked your ass.
EDM: One Night (73 MB direct download, 12 MP3 tracks in 1 ZIP file, cover art). This is a concept record about an all-night party including . . . partying . . . a late-night drive, and sunrise on a California beach. People I’ve shared this have said it sounds like classic Moby. I’m OK with this.
PUNK/HARDCORE: Punk Archaeology (66 MB direct download, 17 MP3 tracks in 1 ZIP file, cover art). This is the original, raw, every-song-recorded-in-three-hours-or-less Punk Archaeology record Lewis Binford warned you about.
FOLK EP: Mr. Andrew (19 MB direct download, 7 MP3 tracks in 1 ZIP file, cover art). If you like Dylan, you should probably go listen to him. The Stereophonic Folk Stylings of Mr. Andrew offers original folk and country tunes as well as covers of “Hallelujah” and “Paradise (Mr. Peabody’s Coal Train)” plus a guest vocal by my cat, Tony.
TRIP HOP EP: The Phoenix Project (25 MB direct download, 8 MP3 tracks in 1 ZIP file, cover art). Samples, cut-ups, and phat, slow beats, plus three tracks feature guest vox by my daughter back when she was six years old.
LICENSING: Thanks for listening! If you like a track and want to use it for something non-commercial, that’s cool. Send me a link to your work once it’s finished. If you want to use a tune for commercial purposes, I will totally sell out. Send me an email at archaeogaming at gmail dot com.
